Specialist Orthodontists
An orthodontist is a dentist who has become a registered specialist in orthodontics (in much the same way that a cardiologist is a doctor who has become a specialist in heart problems).
In Australia, an orthodontist must have the qualifications of an AHPRA-registered general dental degree, a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics or Masters degrees in Orthodontics, and be registered as a Specialist in Orthodontics by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Only a specialist orthodontist can be a member of professional specialist orthodontic organization, such as the Australian Society of Orthodontists.
At Specialists in Orthodontics, our registered specialists have over 25 years of combined orthodontic, dental and smile experience. We are members of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontics, European Orthodontic Society, and the World Federation of Orthodontists.
